Passionate about graphic design? The National Deaf Children’s Society is looking for a Senior Designer to lead the delivery of our designed marketing, information and fundraising materials – building our profile with impact.

Do you have the design expertise to create impact for a national charity?

You’ll be responsible for evolving the brand and be adept with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator, as well as having a keen eye for detail. You’ll be joining at an exciting time as we develop a new brand and website for deaf young people. Are you this special person?

Guiding colleagues in digital, marketing, fundraising and editorial roles, the Senior Designer will lead on impactful visual communications for deaf young people, as well as a large range of other audiences.

We’re looking for someone who has significant knowledge of designing for both print and digital channels, is great at building relationships and has experience of working with freelancers and external designers. This role also line manages our Graphic Designer, but experience of line management is not essential and this would be a great first role for a new manager.

This is a great opportunity to put your design and creative skills to work and help deliver our vision of a world without barriers for every deaf child.

To apply for this role, you will have to complete an online application and specify how you meet the person specification criteria, as outlined in the job description. To do this, we suggest that you download the job description (found at the start of the application process) prior to starting your application.

Currently, the application process works best on desktop / laptop devices.

Along with completing the application form, please also submit three samples of your work on three separate white A3 landscape pages in one combined PDF (no larger than 6MB). Please don’t include an extra cover page. Each A3 page should also contain brief details (no more than 100 words) about the project, including its format, who it was for, your contribution and the outcome. Please don’t include your name, initials or any identifying contact details (e.g. URLs, email addresses or phone numbers) on the artwork itself.

The PDF file should be saved with your full name in this format: NDCS-SD-FirstName-Surname.pdf. and sent to recruitment@ndcs.org.uk prior to the closing date.

The closing date for applications is on Monday 3rd August 2020 at 23.59.

We expect interviews to be held via Zoom on Thursday 13th August 2020.

We strive to provide an accessible recruitment process. If a disability or long-term condition makes it difficult for you to complete our application form, please contact us to discuss alternative formats. If you require reasonable adjustments for taking part in the interview, please indicate this in response to the corresponding question in the application form.

We are a Disability Confident Employer and committed to offering interviews to candidates who request to be considered under the disability confident scheme and meet the minimum requirements of the person specification.
